Professional Experience

I have been working in parks and recreation since 2019. I have worked for both government and private organizations. Throughout my work experience, I have gained skills in:

• First Aid/AED/CPR

• Handling money including cash drawers, financial reports, and bank deposits

• Managing retail inventory for point-of-sale operations

• Translating documents from English to Spanish

• Keeping watch to ensure the security of a vulnerable environment; redirecting trespassers

• Teaching children ages 5-17 a variety of skills including woodworking, cooking, and mosaic making

• Supervising groups of teens on field trips to water parks, ropes courses, paintball, and more

• Safely using ropes course equipment to assist climbers, teaching safety skills to first-time climbers, and monitoring the safety of groups of climbers

• Inspecting and advising related specifically to the safe implementation of high-risk activities including trampolines and group athletic games

• Handling various animals including chickens, ducks, large birds, rodents, lizards, snakes, goats, frogs, cats, and dogs

• Supervising and managing groups of employees including facilitating peer mediation, scheduling, training, hiring, disciplining, delegating tasks, and addressing dissatisfied customers effectively 

In my experience as an educator, I have developed skills in:

• Lesson planning

• Developing and implementing formative and summative assessments

• Classroom and team management

• Universal design of learning (UDL)

• Online learning platforms including Canvas, Blackboard, and Google Classroom

• Conflict resolution and intervention

• Mandatory reporter protocols

• Participation in IEP and 504 implementation

• Career advising, specifically in the healthcare field
